The City of Eaton Rapids is in search of an experienced Community and Economic Development Specialist. The ideal candidate will have experience in economic development strategy, as well as coordinating, managing, and implementing strategies, plans, programs, and activities to promote community revitalization, neighborhood revitalization and infill development, historic preservation, land use planning and zoning assistance along with related community development and redevelopment efforts within the city. The position is also responsible for assisting with events, recreational programming, code enforcement, rental inspections and serves as staff support for the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the Local Development Finance Authority (LDFA).
The City Community and Economic Development Specialist position is supervised by the City Manager. Educational requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, planning, and urban development or a closely related field, is required. Specialized courses and training in economic and community development are preferred.
Salary Range from $55,000 to $65,000 Annually. Comprehensive benefit package including paid time off, short-term disability, health, dental, vision, and life insurance, employer retirement contribution, and participation in Michigan’s Municipal Employee Retirement System pension benefit program.
