The City of Eaton Rapids is accepting applications for a Part-Time Assistant to the Public Works/Public Utilities Director & Utility Assistant.
This position provides administrative and operational support to the Public Works and Public Utilities Director, as well as utility billing and general office assistance within the City offices.
Responsibilities include assisting with purchase order processing, utility billing support, project coordination, customer service, and general clerical duties. The position also serves as backup for the front counter and telephone system, receives and posts payments made to the City, and provides information to citizens regarding City operations, policies, and procedures.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (occasional afternoon hours may be required) Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Duties include:
- Assist Public Works/Public Utilities Director with administrative tasks
- Utility billing support and customer account assistance
- Purchase order processing
- Front counter and telephone coverage
- Receiving and posting payments
- Providing public information and customer service
- General clerical, filing, and data entry duties
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: Experience in clerical, bookkeeping, utilities, or municipal office work preferred. Strong communication, computer, and customer service skills required. Ability to multitask, work independently, and maintain accuracy and confidentiality.
