PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City of Eaton Rapids Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at the regular meeting scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Eaton Rapids City Hall, 200 S. Main St., Eaton Rapids, MI. 

1.) Said Public Hearing will be to consider amendment of a Zoning Ordinance to amend Section 1.40 to Article I, Appendix A, and to Amend Section 23.50 to Article XXIII, Appendix A Zoning Ordinance, of the codified ordinances of the City of Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, Michigan, to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the City of Eaton Rapids; and to rescind a Commercial Medical Marihuana Facilities overlay District. 

Owners of property within 300 feet of the above-referenced parcels have been mailed a notice of this meeting. Interested parties will be given the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing. 

 2.) Said consideration will be for Conditional Use, Article V Low-Density Single-Family District (RD-1), Section 5.30 Conditional Use (G) Plant nurseries and greenhouses. 

Article XXIII – Conditional Use Requirements: 
300-027-400-001-05, 54.35 acres of vacant land 

Owners of property within 300 feet of the above-referenced parcel have been mailed a notice of this meeting. Interested parties will be given the opportunity to be heard at the public hearing. 

3.) Said Public Hearing will be to consider amendment of a Zoning Ordinance to amend Appendix A, Section 1.40 to Article I, Section 4.20 Traditional Residential to Article IV, Section 5.20 Low Density Single Family to Article V, Section 6.20 Single Family and Two Family, Article VI, Section 7.20 Multi Family Residential, to Article VII, and Section 9.20 Central Business District, Article IX, Zoning Ordinance, of the codified ordinances of the City of Eaton Rapids, Eaton County, Michigan, to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the City of Eaton Rapids; an amendment to allow Short term rentals (STR) as a principal permitted use in the above Zoning Districts.
