The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is once again hosting a Sip N Sleigh Wine Walk on Friday, December 4th from 6pm-8pm and have several stops on the walk this year. This event is a fundraiser for the DDA so they can do more for the downtown businesses, such as grant funding for startups, interior and exterior repairs and much more. They recently used funds to spruce up the downtown with beautiful hanging baskets, and recently purchased new trash cans, bike racks and some benches. Watch for more details on the wine walk.
The City is wrapping up some of the water main projects that have been on-going. We know that construction is an inconvenience but making these improvements to a very old infrastructure takes time and delays are expected to happen, but we appreciate everyone’s patience while we make these necessary upgrades and repairs.
The city council will be meeting soon in a joint collaboration with the city’s Planning Commission to discuss our next Master Plan. These are done every 5 years and in the past, the Master Plan was approved by Planning, then sent to Council for adoption but we never worked on it together, so this is a great way to collaborate and make decisions together instead of on our own.
If you have any questions regarding what is happening in the City, please reach out to me directly at pcolestock@cityofeatonrapids.gov, or give me a call at (517) 410-9472. You can also attend one of our city council meetings. We meet monthly on the 2nd and 4th Mondays at 5pm and 7pm.
Have a great fall, and Happy Thanksgiving!!
Mayor Pam
